Hey n20, try hosting pics on flickr.com too because they seem to resize without detail loss. If fact, it makes your pics look ten times better!

evil_as_skeletor wrote:Just a question. Has anybody ever entered a photo comp before?
Do you know whether or not we download the full res/size pic and host that on image site, then post that? Or do you dl the small preview pic and host and post? Because my shots look mad from flickr, but the small preview pic to flickr looks sad
Also, do you honestly think I stand a chance? If so, with what pic? (or is this cheating somewhat?)
Heya,
I assume you are talking about an official T10 comp? Then yes, I've entered one and I came 3rd (or 2nd?).
Read their rules - generally they are pretty specific about how you host/show it.
"We will only accept the preview image that is shown in your My Forza page. You post should be that image, so when you are saving your photo to the hosting site make sure you save that preview image. Then post your link to the My Forza page at which your image can be viewed. "
So, make it look as good as possible in that preview window, then don't click on download to get it (that will be the wrong resolution).
Click on the picture to preview it, then right-click and save it. Upload that to any hosting site and post the image and the link to the preview page in the competition. Don't edit or alter it first as you'll get disqualified.
As for if you have a chance? Sure - have a look at the other entries. There are a few good ones, but a LOT of crap ones.

^^^ Sweet paint job and good photos. Try hosting to Flickr. I am not just throwing it around, it really clarifies the pics.

Hey Nitrus! NIce paint job dude!!
It looks like ya got too much shutter speed, turn it off and itll make the background stop blurring (if thats what ya going for).
Also dont forget to set your focus point with the x button.
Maybe also drop the aperture totally
Have ya looked at Mcrows tutorial? that is basically the bible of photography in FM3, he has a link on his sig to get there and it will take your pics from good to excellent in no time!

Re: Forza 3 Pictures and Videos
Good stuff.
See what I mean, Flickr looks so much better. I know it shrinks the image, but It doesn't reduce the quality or compress it too much. I think It applies a kind of 'auto-fix' too...

Re: Forza 3 Pictures and Videos
thanks for the feed back guys !
the paint job was really an half arsed effort as everything was off the storefront or a standard shape.
i'm not talented enough to create my own vinyls

Re: Forza 3 Pictures and Videos
It's interesting that even the large (ie original) photo in flickr still looks good - so you can always post that, rather than the smaller one:
also - for anyone posting photos, it's better to use BBCode rather than html. To do this, click on the little picture of a photo (Image) above the text box and enter the URL to the actual jpg). The reason for this is that by default (I think), the "Always Allow HTML" option is set to no. I couldn't see some of the above pics until I changed that setting. BBCode will always work.
