There was a couple of sheep grazing on the other side of the fence and they were fighting on who has first dibs on them.

That was great. Can't believe they took that long to get the safety car out. Especially with some twit on a quad bike cruising around. egads!

Re: Serious/informative Video's
i remember seeing those clowns race around in the wet the other year at Timaru, seems the standard hasn't got much better. Also what's with Angus Fogg leading the championship, didn't realise he was still racing, thought he hung up the helmet after he crashed the TKR car at Bathurst... twice... in one weekend.

Re: Serious/informative Video's
Searching through contacts on fb and came across this designer kid (who might i add produces crazy awesome stuff) and he co-founded this magazine called Trunk Junk Quaterly. Anyway this video was on their website and it was pretty snazzy. As far as flicking skateboards go this guy has heaps of skill.

Re: Serious/informative Video's
I know Daynom Templeman in the NAC FD reasonably well through a guy at work... He came along on a work outing to a SIM racing evening with work. They basically run a modded R-factor setup, and we ran some laps around Bathurst in the V8s. His background is race driving so he kicked everyone's arse but I did come second

Re: Serious/informative Video's
Is the sound of the anti lag the pop/crackle noise, or that weird tweeting/chirruping noise that sounds like a small confused bird?

Re: Serious/informative Video's
the pop and crackle noise you get the other turbo noise from plumbing the blow off back into the front off the turbo to help with lag aswell
so in a way they are both sounds of anti lag

Yo, I'll give this a crack
Pop crackle etc on lift off throttle is antilag (they try to keep the exhaust gases as high as possible by making the engine have massive overrun on the off throttle, like f1 is doing at the moment but for different reasons), but that flutter noise is from the pressurised air that gets trapped momentarily in the piping between the (closed) throttle body & the compressor of the turbo when the driver backs off the gas... Then it rushes backward through the intercooler etc & past the (still forward spinning) compressor blades of the turbo, causing the "waka waka waka" sound as it does this.
This is why on a car with a big ar5e blow off valve that is venting to atmosphere you hear a much cleaner "pssssssshhhh" kind of sound as the blow off valve is located somewhere along this section of piping & when the throttle body closes the air is released out the valve instead of back through the turbo.
Also as Obsidith said, you can also have a certain type of blow off valve (lots of factory ones) that feeds the released air through another hose back into the piping BEFORE the turbo. This results in a much quieter noise, but again no fluttering just a clean rush of air. In theory this setup works best because some of the air goes back onto the turbo but from in front rather than back out the wrong way.
However by their very nature blow off valves tend to be leaky at certain loints leading to a loss of outright performance & sometimes longer boost up times depending on the setup & for this reason alot of cars will just not use them & then we get treated to the lovely WAKA CHAKA WAKA CHAKA's!! Some say this will destroy a turbo faster (undoubtably it causes more stress on the turbine blades shaft & bearings etc) but IMO by the time the turbo wore out from the extra stress & wear the engine would have been long gone anyway...
Yay for text walls!
