Interesting that that trailer includes Xbox360 at the end.

It is my understanding that this is coming to Xbox. Maybe Ryan's reference to OZPC stands for OZProjectCars.

Project cars was slated to release on all consoles, but the devs want to have a vote to drop the older consoles to concentrate resources on the PC next gen consoles.
I have tried to convince them to just drop the PS3 Version because GT6 is coming out on that and they will not get anywhere going up against that. Forza 5 is a next gen title so it makes commercial sense to stick with the 360 version because there are many racers out there who won't upgrade. Well at least not right away. After they build a loyal group, then release the next gen port. But I'm just one voice and everyone seems to like the idea of dropping current gen consoles. I'm guessing most of them are PC racers and so don't care what happens with them.

More interesting for me was seeing Oculus.

I'd be happy for them to drop current gen consoles even though I'm staying on them for a bit. Happy to wait for a racer that takes its racing a little more seriously...pending final product of course.

Some info and a vid that SMEG posted over at MOJO to get the juices going:

SMEGC wrote:Here's Project Cars apparent track list so far http://www.projectcarsvideos.com/2013/02/project-cars-track-list.html
SMEGC wrote:This one has some awesome close racing. once you get past the first lap carnage

How good is the cockpit view?  These are gonna be great fun to race.

I noticed around the 2min mark he gets taken out on the back straight, catches up and flashes his lights to get his place back.  Interesting.  You won't get that in Forza5 because, well, it's related to racing.  Razz

Looks impressive indeed, GOD I want to race Bathurst!!!

The degrees of turn with the wheel looked a bit excessive for that car, approx 180 deg turn to get around forrest elbow, I realise it could be just the animation or the drivers setup.

I read awhile back that Slightly Mad released their API for peripheral developers inc ButtKicker. Expecting then the vibration would be true to road surface and physical objects, rather than presently relying on the lower spectrum of sound to simulate vibration.

cheers Dektra,

wow, the track looks awesome, luv the guard rail a couple of meters in from the track (as they should be). The elevation looks almost identical to some real in-car videos Ive seen of late.

Regardless of what platform, its going to be one cool game.

I think i'm going to have to scope out a secondary P-C.A.R.S forum for Xbox One, So I don't clutter this forum with it. If i find a good one (or if anyone does for that matter) please post it up Smile
If we find one with a race series we could always enter OZFM team cars Very Happy

I'm going to put together a Car and Track list for Project C.A.R.S. I'll start up another thread and people can add things as a post when they find them. This game is shaping up to be the majestic racing jewel of 2014.

Project CARS - Page 6 Empty Re: Project CARS

Post by SunCrossed Tue Jan 21, 2014 9:56 pm

This evening I finally did a firmware update on my CSR wheel so I thought I'd try Project Cars again to see if the new drivers fixed my issues with it. The answer would be yes and it was pretty awesome to drive around in a HD car racing game. I'm not quite sure that it hits the mark like Forza 5 tracks and cars graphics wise. For all it's faults F5 is a benchmark product. But as a whole it's a very solid good looking game that is still in development. The rain beads on the car and looks pretty awesome. The track gets real slippery with the rain, and overall the physics and car handling feels great. FFB doesn't seem to be fully implemented yet ripple strips don't jolt or rumble the wheel, but it all looks and feels pretty good. The Ariel Atom v8 around Bathurst is a lot of fun, now I know how F5 would be with a wheel and well that just makes me angry. It's definitely another option for people who want to drive but aren't ready to sacrifice their Fanatec wheel and pay way too much for that Thrustmaster (Sorry guys not meaning to be rude to those who bought them, when you have no choice it kind of forces you in that direction) Only spent an hour or so on it but it was a lot of fun, it will be interesting to see where it goes.

Heh I bought membership early last year or late 2012 I think it's been interesting to watch them develop it... It's definitely quite a bit down the road from where it was a year ago.

I agree - there's still a fair bit of work to be done, but it's definitely progressing. The forums are quite interesting too, just seeing how much they listen to their customers is quite refreshing.

I wasn't trying to direct that comment at Turn 10 in particular - I just think the way that Slightly Mad have funded the project gives them a lot more freedom than most software developers have.

The comment directly relates to T10 though. I'll help you stab.

I like P-C.A.R.S selection of RACE CARS for their RACE CAR game.

Who cares if you're referring to T10, they listened to Microsoft's bottomless wallet, they deserve all the stabbings. The whole point of the WMD Portal is to communicate directly with the playerbase that is giving you the money to make the game and gain honest to god feedback of the game itself, marketing and deadlines be damned. Not saying they can't screw it up, but i'll be bitterly disappointed if they do given their progress.

I'd rather have a good game take time than be rushed out incomplete for launch, its why i'm glad DriveClub was delayed, along with Watch Dogs.

However I didn't/havnt seen any star wars pod racers yet, maybe ther are keeping the best till last, haha.

Anyone know if it's even possaible for multi-platforms to share share online servers and race together?, it seems impossible but ya never know....

Epic Batman instrumental music is epic.

The one thing I have noticed from watching the trailer is that the cockpits are very reminiscent of the NFS Shift series. I could see a resemblance in the way that they have modeled it but hopefully they are improvements on this (yes, I know Slightly Mad Studios made the Shift series).

Other than that, first impression is that the BMW might just be the best sounding car on the planet if that is actually how it's going to sound in-game, and the wide diversity of production and race cars is surely a breath of fresh air. Looks like they've really lifted the bar with this one, let's hope T10 reacts to this.
