NASCAR - Round 1 6/11

NASCAR Round 1 will determine what teams you will be put into

3x road courses
1x oval

collisions will be off
scored by lap times

car to be used is the Cadilac CTSV - a tune has been uploaded search NASCAR

Wanted to give this a crack but not sure how I'm placed now with a bunch of 4am shifts that have cropped up at work. If I'm around I'll try but ultimately I wouldn't want to leave a team mate hanging which is obviously what this series is all about. Will play it by ear until a decision has to be made.

Yeah if theres less than 6 it will be canned and il organise the 90s f1s for next week and if nobody turns up for that I'm done trying to organise casual series racing that everyone wants but doesn't want to sign up for

After NASCAR going to run some GT testing. Car builds are

Aston DBR9 - 20%power handicap 10 front grip handicap
BMW M3 GT2 - Race Brakes
Corvette GT2 - Race Brakes
Ferarri 458 GT2 - Stock
Viper GTS-R - Race Brakes

Hey Stu, I'm not sure how your turnout was last night and if it's going ahead.  I was so close to being able to give it a crack but had some family issues.  

While I'm still not 100% sure of how I'll be placed for the series, I still wouldn't mind giving it a crack.  Given it's not as serious as the Tuesday comps (not trying to belittle it it anyway), I just thought maybe I could do some runs on selected tracks to give you an idea of my general speed to then place me in a team.  Obviously if you've already got even numbers don't worry about me.

BTW, on the car itself, I had loaded the Nascar tune but very definitely didn't have gearing set to 4.  Popping into 5th & 6th was regular.  I just assumed the build/tune was setup so the ratios were set to go no better than 4th. I didn't try to change it myself as I just assumed that I'd be locked out of making any changes.

The nascar tune for the Cadillac is not the 4 speed, was modified to simulate the real deal cars - front engine/rwd/lots of power. The 3 makes of nascar builds are up and you tune the 4 speed yourself for next round. Yeah no worrys there is a drivers championship and a team championship.

If anyone would like to compete in the next 4 round you must complete the below and send me your best clean lap , prefer you to post a picture up in general chat or make a media announcement
1x 10min timed session at nurburg gp
1x 10min timed session at road Atlanta full
1x 10min timed session at long beach full
1x 10min timed session at Indianapolis oval

Okay cool I'll give it a crack.  I want to join at the the very least just to do a Target No. 42 livery

P.S.  Just noticed a series of Target No.41 Nascars.  Maybe I should automatically be teamed with Semp.

Haha semp wasnt racing last night but I'm sure we could find a suitable replacement.

Teams will be locked in on Tuesday arvo so you know what car you have and your team mate

Sorry Stu for the muck around but I can't commit...especially to a team mate at this stage. If I make an appearence I'll just go solo.
