Open tunes for V8 series 10
Yo peeps! Had a bit of an idea last night after quali, some of the guys said they had trouble with tuning. Hopefully it helps a few of you find some time. I have done very similar times in both tunes but i beleive the holden is more forgiving as a race car. So here they are Enjoy!! They are also shared under ozfm if you cant be bothered tuning and just wanna have a run in them

Hope it helps somebodies that may be struggling. My biggest tuning tips would be learning how damping affects the stability of the car and how to balance them against each other, Roll bars are good for tweaking and turn in and oversteer. Also a v8 supercar is like a gun. If you just pull the trigger you gonna miss, Squeeze that sh#t slowly and watch your targets drop

Re: Open tunes for V8 series 10
Get around this guys. Sly puts in a lot of time, effort and frustration to get these tunes to where they are. If you give them a go, give him some feedback!
I don't run a Sly tune, but I ran his awhile ago and felt some good things, then changed mine up afterwards. Thanks dude!

Camber:
Fr:3.5 R: -3.0
for the ford is it meant to be 3.5 or -3.5 ? i always thought chamber should be -
doing it the way you wrote makes the car impossible to turn in.

It's -3.5 and -3.0 mate. Always in the negatives with camber !

Re: Open tunes for V8 series 10
After my sad attempt at quali, I've worked on my own tune and got down to consistent mid-1:53.xx - Sly your tune is a lot stiffer than mine, but I've applied your alignment and tyre pressures and ARB F/R ratio to my tune and am now in the mid 1.52.xx range. Good stuff.

Re: Open tunes for V8 series 10
Thanks heaps Sly.
I know some of you spent a tonne of time on these tunes and to share it to the OZFM community is awesome.
I will give it a go tonight and see if I can better my shameful qualifying times.
I tend to always have issues with under steering so may need to adjust it a little probably
Been a learning curve not using TCS.... the V8 was the only car I used it on... but feels a lot better when I can get it right.
Once again a massive thankyou

Re: Open tunes for V8 series 10
1 hot lap with this tune and I'm already .300 better than my fastest lap. Holy crap, I spent over 200 laps trying to crack better than a 1:52:9xx and hit a 1:52:6xx off the bat, and it wasn't even a good lap haha
Thank you so much sly haha

Re: Open tunes for V8 series 10
Hehehe!!
On the wheel, I thought it had great turn in, low-speed grip was good but I was getting some mid-corner push - I suspect it was from some rear body roll but I think it would be down to the device used and the driving style - controllers are perhaps more of a "point and shoot" and need more rear squat than someone on the wheel...?? But it certainly works and I will certainly look at it to see where I can improve my low-speed grip.
If anyone had the chance in doing so, I might join the cause and post up for sharing and feedback. Been working on it today where I've cracked the 1:50s (okay, juust - 1:50.999 - LB time). Still getting my head around the tuning on FM5 as Ive only been back on the game and wheel for a month or so.

Not taking anything away from Sly's tune and instigating the topic - great stuff dude. My contribution for those interested, and welcome the feedback.
