GT Endurance Race 1 - GT Bathurst 200 [22/2/14]
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Race Format:
1 x 15 minute Qualifying Session (Random Grid, Collisions Off, 2 Second Roll Off)
1 x 32 lap Race (Random Grid, Collisions On, +1 Formation Lap, 2 x Mandatory Pit Stop)
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Race Rules:
Lapped cars
- It is the responsibility of the front runners to call blue flag if they come up behind a lapped car.
- It is the responsibility of the back runner to move off the racing line and allow the lead cars though at earliest convenience. Failure to do so is very naughty, and won't win you any friends.
Pit Stops
- Each car is required to undertake two pit stops during the race.
- These may not be taken in the last five laps of the race or at the end of the formation lap, and may not be within five laps of each other. (Lap 2,7 is fine, Lap 2,6 is not)
Restarts
- Drivers are expected to show caution during the race, restarts will only be called on the formation lap or the first lap of the race.
- Drivers who damage another car during the formation lap will be required to start from the pit lane, thus forfeiting their position from qualifying, they may not start until all other cars have passed. This does not count as one of the mandatory pit stops.
- In the event of multiple cars requiring a pit lane start they must line up at pit exit in the order in which they qualified (fastest in front). They must still wait until all grid start cars have passed. This does not count as one of the mandatory pit stops.
Previous Podium Handicap
- The drivers that placed on the podium in the previous endurance race will receive a time added onto their end race time, depending on their finishing position:
1st = +5 Seconds
2nd = +3 Seconds
3rd = +1 Second
This will be calculated at the end of the race, positions may be lost through this, so front runners be aware.
- There will be +5 points for line honors, awarded to the first driver to cross the finish line on the final lap, regardless of handicap.

Well crap......................
Looks like I'm not not going to be at the first GT endurance event because I am being forced to go to a strange place called Texas to see my brother play lacross but get this, the coaches are not allowing me and my parents to see my brother after the game ( Dick move Dartmouth university, Dick move) so I have to spend three days in a state I am not interested to go to at all, sitting next to a bunch of rich d-bags during the game, goodie...

Sucks man. Cheers for letting us know. Doesn't need a new thread. Just post it in the GT general discussion thread in future

Re: GT Endurance Race 1 - GT Bathurst 200 [22/2/14]
This is on SATURDAY!
Get your liveries done boys and girls!
That being said, this team thing has come up with a few issues. So here's another thought
Run your own livery, done. hurray. Lets race. Hopefully we'll get some proper team liveries for round 2.

Good racing tonight guys. I'll get those points up tomorrow night (I promise)
We had some discussions about safety cars after the race i'll update the OP for the next round to reflect the decisions made in it.

Re: GT Endurance Race 1 - GT Bathurst 200 [22/2/14]
Some good racing and actually could do it again no probs and still enjoy it, enduro events really brings out patience or lack of in overtaking and pit stop strategies and would like to see more enduro events (even if there was a time out half way through a race where all drivers stop take a rest room break and resume under a safety car)
Went from 2nd to 8th after first pit stop as something special happened and my car fully just spun around and put me into the wall upon exiting pits, maybe had a mass lag spike or something as still not sure what it was, so trying to get out of that and reversing of the wall caused the second safety car as damaged the swatdx I think in my attempt to get my car back onto track, so pitted again under the safety car, two mandotory pit stops out of the way right and free run to line with near 20 laps to go on the same tyres, should be right I can do this so managed to make my way back through the field with some cars in front having to pit while pushing my vette hard and got myself back into 2nd, nope no way got informed that pitting under a safety car didn count as a pit stop with 6laps to go I had to pit again!!(not allowed to pit in the last 5 laps of the race) Lost my concentration and momentum got spun with a full 360 coming onto to the top of the mountain but somehow didn cop any real damage and then proceded to crash into pit entry which was my third time pitting trashing my car(after race and discussion turns out didn need to make the third pit stop, really really did that just happen), race was lost after that and put me back to 8th only to get back into 7th and then to damage my car again on the last lap loosing a lot of time but nope the gods are against you so for there final say on the very last corner of the last lap got some more contact from behind pushing me back to 8th..'OMG', but with all that and the frustrations at myself from the highs of being in podium contention twice to back to the disappointments finishing 8th I still really enjoyed it, the highs and lows of racing all packed into the one nights racing.
Also recorded the whole race on a capture device but might wait and see what others come up with first before editing 1.5hrs of video, love the corvettes rear view in dash cam.
Will look forward to similar events as these cars were easyish to drive with no assists on the wheel (slowly getting used to it, a good set of pedals have helped) and hope we can get a full room with more drivers tearing the tracks apart on FM5.
