Good question mate! Hopefully someone can tell us what an ozfm license is haha
But you've read the code of conduct, and sussed out the commodore cup. Welcome to ozfm! Send a friend request to IAMCLARKSON, he runs the commodore cup. Let him know your intentions to run in his series, I'm sure he will be happy to help you get started
Don't forget to grab yourself a race number too

HEY NEW GUY!!!
#1 Rule for new guys is NO WINNING!!
welcome bud,
the licence is something created just so it can be revoked by those who have the power to revoke it. otherwise whats the point of having the power ..right?? just kidding!

Re: Newbie to the forums
Yep, Realised I have a fair bit to learn, so decided it was best to sit it out.
going to try and get some practice in and hopefully race next week.
Have to sort out my sound too, Couldn't hear voice chat very well, even with it turned right up in the setting. (have had voice chat muted for a long time. used to get annoyed at 13 year olds screaming and carrying on)
Will also have to grab the livery off of somebody at some point.

With the CSR wheel, grab a couple of MS Wireless headsets. Ozgameshop.com has them for $30, any wired headset seems to cause issues. I've had no problem with these headsets.
If your new to Forza, (disclaimer don't want to tell you how to suck eggs!) the online racing here is great but these guys are really good, it will take a while to get used to. Practice and getting to know the tracks is big thing. I thought I was a reasonable driver till I came here and for the first 6 months I was rubbish back of the pack, still am, but now I'm more confident in having battles and am having some great tussles with the guys in the V8's. All that said the Commodores are hard cars to drive low aero high power sideways cars and keeping them under control is no easy thing.
Persist and it will be worth it, I really look forward to my race nights at OZFM. You can FR me if you like.

Re: Newbie to the forums
Been playing forza for a while causally with a controller, Have had the wheel for about 6 weeks, but only got it set up with the gtxtreme about a week ago (was playing with the wheel on a coffee table that had to brace with legs prior).
Hopefully have my seat setup with a Buttkicker in the next few weeks too.
Ill look into getting a headset.
OSTC looks interesting. Will have to sign up for it I think.

Re: Newbie to the forums
Had a bit of a practice in the Commodore on nordschleife last night.
Best I could manage was a 9:42:xx
most of my runs were around the 9:45/9:47 tho (when I didn't crash out that is)
Tuning tips for it?
Squirms a lot in the arse end under braking.

Re: Newbie to the forums
Cant speak for anyone else and i would say i generally run mid pack but the way the diff is setup in the commy (sorry pontiac) you kind of have to hold a little bit of throttle in the corners or the arse will slide. I run stiffer front springs compared to the rear and a little bit more sway bar at the rear. Works for me but like i said i'm usually mid pack at best. I would like to blame daylight savings but we all know the truth ha ha. Oh and your on a wheel aren't you? Probably requires a completely different setup than controller

And spot on advice about carrying throttle through the corners. It's very much a balancing act with this thing. Suss it out and youll find big gains.

Twas behind you on the first corner on Sunset at the start....Whooooow... haha ... If you like cars/racing/gaming and going fast stick around n hit up the friend requests and jump in xbox parties/forza lobbies. There's lots of ego's going round but mostly lots of fun and shared interest.
Please jump in, expect an invite, hold your own, ask for help n take no prisoners on the track....
