Possible alternative to a cockpit/mm setup?
Hey all,
I've been trying to figure a way to somewhat cost effectively get a cockpit setup running at home, but with storage constraints in mind to keep the other half happy...
A colleague suggested the upcoming Sony visor, and I thought hmmm... add Kinect for the head tracking, and it could work pretty damn well! Effectively 150" at 4 metres, and with the head tracking, you could actually turn your head properly, not just turn it and still have to keep your eyes on the TV screen.
I'd post a link, but not allowed to yet... The visor is on the Sony US site, model HMZ-T1
Is there any reason why this couldn't work?
All I can think of at this stage is a mic for XBL comms, might anyone have a solution that could be integrated?
Stu

Thanks guys - the compact stands look good.
The only stickler now is trying to get XBL comms potentially running with the visor. Unfortunately as it's not out yet theory is all I have to go on. And I haven't worked out a potentially workable theory yet! Well, nothing that doesn't involve hacking the visor up to fit a headset into it anyway...
