Why no autotune?
Why doesn't Forza have an Autotune button?
Surely since Tune 10 have an intimate knowledge of how the game physics work, they could implement a function similar to Auto Upgrade that automatically applies a suitable tune to your car. It could work similar to the various unofficial tuning calculators out there. You could still adjust to your own preference but it would take most of the guess work out of it for those that just want to get the best out of each car without investing hours in tuning and testing.
I wonder if we will see something like this in FM4.

Best kind of Autotune ^^^^
Not sure Skin. I Doubt they will because it will take to much away from the game. Half the fun is learning how to tune to get the most out of a car

Half the fun for some.
Considering how much Turn 10 talk about accessibility, I find it strange. Besides, wouldn't an autotune feature help tuners learn how to turn?

Re: Why no autotune?
Way I see it, the standard tune on every car is an "autotune".
It may not seem like it to us, because what we're really asking for here is an optimised tune for the car. Since tuning changes for car build, drivers and tracks they can never get it right.
So they just drop in some basic settings, that work with varying degrees of success.

I would agree if there was some kind a variance between cars but everything is just set to 50% at stock.

I don't think all tunable components are set at 50% by default on all cars.
Are they?

Not from the factory Wolf, but if you put "Aftermarket" Components in the car it tends to just give the car a base setting. But this is different for most cars.
What are you having trouble tuning Skin?

Re: Why no autotune?
+1 for an auto tune feature, only downfall that can see with doing such a thing is the upgrades put into the car, ie not all cars may need race suspension and only have adjustable roll bars, aero, tyres list goes on but if everytime you put such or other upgrades into the car and hit a 'auto tune' button it took all that into consideration...hmm yep.
But a Base starting point with variances between cars would be good and a much needed feature that I think would encourage more players to tune.

Re: Why no autotune?
I am not sure how the game would know, I like a car that has an early entry and ride the brake to the apex... I know others like to fly up to the corner, stand on the brakes and turn in.
I use a wheel, and others use the controller...
Not sure auto tune feature would really work. Too many variables, too many different driving styles.
