im not sure exactly how monumental this is for the Xbox V Playstation argument but id say its enough for Xbox to have said they won.
That and the 3 people i saw in EB Games today asking how much for a PS3 trade in on an Xbox was!
Goodbye PS3 i reckon.

Yeah thats a bad situation for Sony/PS3 right now and this incident has to hurt them a lot, at least in the short term.
So we can have a laugh at their expense, for now.
But think about this...
The xbox and XBL are Microsoft products.
Now, of course, we're very fortunate that M$ have a reputation for releasing robust, well designed, secure, bug free hardware and software.
So there'd never be any chance of someone hacking M$ would there...
M$ store personal info and card details for xbl auto subs renewals and points purchases at least. I'm not sure about anything else like the online movie and music services. As the info is stored somewhere other ppl can can try to get at it - I hope they fail.

This is going to cost Sony millions. They were already at a loss when the console was released (cost around $1000 and sold for around $600 when it came out). Now there is talk of legal action against Sony over the delay in getting the information out.

Re: PSN - Check your CC statement lol
it will hurt them massively financially and reputation wise no doubt.
wolfy, i reckon that MS being in 90%(guess) of peoples homes and businesses would have the highest security outside of any government institution, poss even better as even Govt would use MS, so I (hope) THINK that it would be far more secure than the PS situ.
no doubt it has endless hack attempts, hope they dont get in there or the world is screwed, will be like Y2K hahahah
Sony may remove themselves from the whole market and leave Xbox as the dominant power, watch the prices of all our stuff go through the roof then, so it would be, strangely enough, a lose lose for xbox owners i reckon

Re: PSN - Check your CC statement lol
The problem with MS products and security is that since they are in nearly every household it makes them a popular target. 95% of the viruses (or more?) are Windoze specific. Kinda the opposite of "security through obscurity". I guess you just need to watch your CC account at all times and if anything odd crops up, let your bank know asap.
Totally agree about the lose situation for xbox owners though. Domination/Monopoly sucks for everyone. Would Kinect have come out if Nintendo weren't taking a sizeable chunk of the market? We need at least 3 players in the console wars to keep pushing boundaries.
