How to mount a fanatec shifter?
Do they have holes and thread that they can be screwed in like the wheel? Or do you have to velcro or wire them onto a raised platform. I'm looking to set something up on my gaming rig.

Re: How to mount a fanatec shifter?
g'day mate,
Standard method for fanatec shifter attachment is a couple of round metal rods that are inserted into the side of the base section of the wheel unit. You should get the rods as part of the kit.
The shifter assembly is attached to the other end of the rods. you can adjust how far out from the wheel and it can be set on the right or left side of the wheel. I've seen pics, just can't find one right now...
I've read comments that the std mounts aren't strong enough and the shifter wobbles about a bit.
Check out Don Stylz's fanatec setup here, you'll see his race seat uses a couple of bolts on a steel plate to mount the shifter.
If you're modding/building your own stand you could do something similar.

Re: How to mount a fanatec shifter?
From what i recall there is a company that make gear shift mounts.. but i forgot what brand it was . will try chase it up..
with mine i found the best way was to ..
Make a side plate and align shifter and plate and drill the holes also tap thread into the plate for the bolts to screw in to .. or you could just use bolts on the other side. .. then i got the original rods you get with your wheel and then cut 2 lengths the width of the shifter and then run a 100 x 8 or 10mm bolt through there and just tighten it up to the plate. Make sure u dont cut the rod sleeves to short as when u tighten the bolts u might crush or put alot of presure onto the shifter housing..

What are the dimensions of the shifter. I have an idea as to what I want to do
I just need the width of the thing. I'll mount it to my frame on the side.
