niice dazza,
"Grand Prix Unlimited/Road & Track Presents Grand Prix Unlimited (Accolade)
This game includes the tracks and cars of several seasons of Formula 1, however the early primitive polygon graphics make it a hard game to play, compared to Formula One Grand Prix, which came out the same year."
I remember rushing home from school everyday so i could play that...

First GP-style game I played was on a Tandy TRS-80 hooked up to a black and white 34cm TV, loaded off a cassette tape and you played it with a funny little joystick.
Whoever thougth GP Unlimited was primitive obviously never played a game in 80x25 characters using ASCII block characters on a computer with a whopping 1.77mhz (yes, megahertz) of power and 4KB of RAM.
I used to rush home to play that when I was about 10. You started last, moved left or right to avoid the other cars who were already on the track when you started from the start line, and each race they got a little bit faster. You always raced the same track and the goal was just to pass all the cars without hitting them so you could win the race. You had to look out for oil puddles and if you hit another car you spun out and had to get going again which cost you time.
Now we complain about tyre deformation physics, engine torque curves and how heavy/light the cars "feel".

Most enjoyable gameplay wise for me was Microprose Formula One Grand Prix. The multiplay where two peeps could share the one PC was a great idea, and massive fun. oh where has the gameplay gone........
