Yep, that car was a bit quicker when I tested, just thought I would leave it in for now and see if others found the same.  So don't get too attached to it, I may need to exclude or limit the PI or something with it.  Open to suggestions on that. I know it is a leaderboard car, would like to include the car as it fits well with the theme.

This sounds more to my speed. I reckon I'll just see what the faster guys go with and see if I can simply clone their choice. Smile

Tried these last night, just add 100kg to the minimum weight of the lancer & it should work with the rest. They all have their differences still but this evens them out alot. Hope this helps Smile

Thanks Reaper, as I said I would like to keep it in the mix as it fits the theme.  How do you think we could police the weight gain, or do we really have to I guess.  Might have a look at it and see if I can set a max PI or maybe make it run in a restricted group in the lobby.

PS: there should be at least one Escort, these things sound wicked!  Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

You could just ask everyone to nominate their weight + PI before racing starts, then get everyone to share their build (can leave untuned) so anyone can check their car complies. It will show everything.

Also unfortunately it seems that the Eclipse & its cousin the 'Talon' seem way too fast in a straight line when built up.... Maybe you could limit Mitsubishi to just the Evo if others find the same?

That leaves 2 Toyota Gt4's, the Subaru, the Ford Escort & the Mitsubishi Evo (at its 1280kg limit), all very close once built up, all around B490PI give or take.

Not meaning to take over or anything, just saying what i've found, hope it all helps.   Smile

All good, appreciate the advice. I like the idea of people nominating their weight and PI. I initially wanted to set an overall PI limit on all the cars, but found by limiting the power and weight I was getting pretty close times (Catalunya School) except for the evo, it was a clear half second over the very short track.

I saw in the series info thread you said Dazza, 'be creative' - so there is no great push for period or realistic racing style liveries? Need a sponsor?

Go for it... This series is not based on any real life series that I know of. I will make up a number board next week, however I am not too bothered if people use it or not, have some fun with the livery, just keep it clean.

The most important thing with this series is to have a bit of fun, let your hair down... Things will get serious enough when we roll out the V8s.

I did think that, then thought it may show us the girls too... lol.

I do like it though. I would be the only one who knows and I don't get that much time to practise anyway...

No no, I joke. Everyone at least needs a few laps before racing so we don't end up with a crash fest Wink

I have added this to the series info sign up thread and the Car thread.

Car Selection
There are a couple of stand out cars that are a little bit quicker then the others, namely the Eclipse and the Talon. These cars will be excluded from the series. The Evo, it would be good if the faster guys (you know who you are) would not choose this car, and maybe this will bring the field closer together.

Calendar of Events
Pre Season Testing - 17/06/2014
This week will give drivers a chance to test their builds, try a few different cars, and possibly show us any stand out cars that may need restricting/revising.

I have had the week from hell so far, so will be having an early night tonight...  Feel free to test the cars around the chosen tracks and let us know what you find.

Give you an idea of my week so far... My daughter's car...

Daughter is fine, car is stuffed... Cops said she is lucky to be alive, one of the poles she hit came out of the ground hit the windscreen right in front of her and the hit the roof.

Hope to salvage the engine and put it in another car we were using for spares... this car will be spares, well whats left of it.  Sad  This car has not yet done 100k, it was in great condition for a 1996 model.

To all the young people out there... Slow Down!
