Etihad Stadium - Melbourne Docklands by mcrow5, on Flickr

this has got to be the most emotional photo I have ever taken. During the exposure I got an SMS from my dad telling me that my aunty had passed away after a 3 year battle with cancer. I was almost in tears taking this photo Sad

time for some more Black Rock Razz this time at night, with one very long exposure.

Black Rock, VIC - Star Trails by mcrow5, on Flickr

who said star trails with the moon out in the middle of suburbia couldn't be done? this proves them wrong Very Happy

i know its not perfect, its noisy and has lost a lot of detail. next time will be 1000 photos stacked and not just one.

thanks T

one from today, last year i thought Sandown was crap for photos, and i am still right. 2 spots around the whole track for the public to take photos from. one is so far away i have to crop the photo and remove about half of it, even at 400mm focal length. it started raining and i couldnt be bothered hanging around for anything to happen. not enough cars going around the track at the same time, i got bored.

headed down to Inverloch this evening, bit of a shame there was a huge cloud covering up the horizon. bummed about it, but i go there early enough to get some red in the clouds. Lightroom helped me out in getting more red into them though Very Happy

went back down to Inverloch again last night, disappointing sunset as the clouds where to far to the right of the frame for me to get them in the same photo as the rock formation.

thanks mate, yeah it was, the 88th floor sky deck. it was hard though, so many reflections coming off the glass it was annoying to not get them in the frame.

Love the Eagle's Nest one - really nice framing with the rock formation casting a harsh contrast with the soft curls of coulds. And it doesn't matter that you couldn't catch the sunset clouds you wanted as the rocks are glowing a colour that hints at what is just out of shot. Nice!

thanks OD! just read this thread Razz

anyway, heres 3 from the weekends outing. couldnt really do much with the one of the dam wall, it was raining and overcast. its a bit dull and boring, but if i do anything to spice it up it ends up looking unnatural, so i only edited it to make it as good as it could be.

you may or may not notice, but these shots where taken with my 550d and not my 7d. reason being is i didnt want to lose another 7d to water damage.
