Post by Guest Sat Jul 17, 2010 1:53 pm

Hi Im from New Zealand and just recently built myself a racing simulator and got 3x xbox 360s and 3x 22"monitors to do some forza 3 multiscreen gaming!!

Just found this forum and would like to have some races with you guys sometime. Im a pretty big fan of endurance races and v8 supercars etc
Was hoping bathurst etc would turn up someday or at least some good NZ/Australian tracks!

Anyways,

hope i can get some racing going with you guys soon

Cheers

G'day mate,

Welcome to the board.
We've aready got a few members from across the ditch so you'll find yourself at home here.

OZFM is the top FM3 forum anywhere (IMH unbiased O, though I have had a couple of beverages tonight).

Anyway, have a look around and get involved in some of our events.
Drift, track, drag, series and casual race nights. We even have a lotto comp.

If you don't find what you want, then you can make it happen if you're ready to organise the event.

Hope you enjoy OZFM.

Cheers

I took some photos of it, please understand that ive only just built this so its a big mess right now and eventually I wanna add a proper triple screen mount to my setup.Clean the cables up too, I made an adaptar so I can use my logitech g25 pedals instead of the xbox 360 pedals. Logitech X-530 speakers surround me but Instead of crappy sub in it,I modified it so it runs to a headunit which powers 3x Bass shakers and a car sub which sits behind my seat. Gotta feel the bumps and engine of course Laughing Shifter is just for ps3 use but I added cup holder to it too for a beer (gaming drink driving is legal and good)Hey guys Dscf0010Hey guys Dscf0011Hey guys Dscf0012

hmm....just saw photos and they are pretty damn shite but meh....

That setup is worth more than my real car. Kiwi ingenuity at it's best.

So have you married up the G25 pedals with the M$ wheel? How does that work. Can you use the G25 with the xbox???

It works just fine,I can let ya know how to do it if anyone is keen on it. Its very easy to do. I like it alot better then the xbox 360 pedals as they are real plastic and crap feeling. G25 pedals are alot better,I read on some forums that people who did this actually dropped their lap times too. No you can't make the g25 wheel work with the xbox,or the shifter as far as im aware. But making the pedals work is very easy

I didn't actually pay anything for the racing simulator itself,my fiancee's old man is a mechanical engineer up in Nelson so we headed up there for a couple weeks and built it in the weekends, shipped it down to Christchurch and I gave it a spray job. I already had 1 of the screens So i brought 2 more, already had 2 xbox 360s so i brought 1 more, got myself 3 copies of forza on the cheap. Got myself a powerful computer power supply to run the headunit and sub amp and another car amp for the bass shakers. I actually don't really wanna work out the cost!!!
It would properly freak me out.

Im not sure Im gonna be good enough to challenge you guys yet really, Although I have always been pretty good at racing car games Ive only really just started on Forza 3, I spent years playing V8 Supercars 1,2 and 3 on the old xbox but never got into Forza 1 and 2. I didn't really like them for some reason but I really love Forza 3. I played for like 5 hours yesterday building up my skill level lol I need to learn some of the tracks so I know how to take every corner etc I know the aussie tracks pretty well due to playing those v8 supercar games alot but none of them are in forza which sucks!

Anywhere I can see some lap times of what you guys generally run on some laps so I can compare and see how far behind I am.

Just add some of the guys here as friends, then you can see lap times we've done on the leaderboard for each track.

Nice set-up you have there, welcome to the forum. As has been said, have a look around and jump into some races. We don't bite... much Hey guys 2qtg2zn

Thats a good looking set up!

I've heard of G25 pedals being used with an xbox before but this is the first one I've seen.
But they only used the accelerator and brake. Have you got the M$ clutch working off the G25 clutch pedal as well?
Either way it'd be great if you could write up a "how to" on getting the pedals working with the xbox.

Cheers

thanks alot guys.

Ill post a how too on the g25 pedals for xbox soon.

No you cannot use the clutch, its only the accelerator and brake, you could however (as far as Im aware) just put a press button under the clutch pedal and run a lead into the xbox 360 wheel and connect to the A button (as this is the clutch button) but too be honest I think thats getting a bit carried away. It would be nice if we could get that fanatec wheel which has clutch and shifter in NZ and Aus easily but I quite like just using the shifter paddles on the wheel now myself.

The other thing which is good about the g25 wheel and pedals/shifter is you can bolt them onto my setup easily, stupid xbox wheel and pedals have no mounting except for that crappy table mount thing which I broke lol

Right now....good old electrical tape is holding the wheel to my setup but the pedals are bolted in place.
