Forza Motorsport 6

Post by original skin on Thu Sep 03, 2015 6:05 pm

So I've got a review copy of the full game early.

I am very restricted on what I can discuss for the next week but I can tell you it's a 43.3GB download!

They sound the same as in FM5 to me. The sound in general is top notch.

OK, tried the Holden, Merc and Volvo and I think they sound different. The Merc was probably the most unique sounding.

How do race cars feel?
Much change between tyres?
What's the biggest change?
Wheel spins, good or bad?
Fav car so far?
How do the different tyre compounds feel?
Fuel/tyre has it changed much?
Online game options, what do we have to play with? Anything new?
New features ?
Turbo/supercharger sound ?
Drifting easier in f6 compared to f5?
Full track list please ? (Haven't found a vid showing all tracks)

My review will cover most of that and there are six new real-world tracks, one fantasy and one returning track from FM4. Wink

There will not be any comments about multiplayer however because for some unknown reason I have not been able to get multiplayer working. I will add that later.

Going off my brief time on the demo, there is certainly a different "feel" to it, especially in terms of vibration and force feedback through the wheel. It doesnt feel as "assisted" as Forza 5, so the wheel doesnt load up as you wind on the lock, but it does provide better weighting. Not as sharp as pCars. There is definitely a different dynamic to it, wont require to toally relearn the game in the same respect as some would have with pCars, but in terms of driving, will need to put some time into practice.

Nice read mate, really has me thinking whether I'll bother getting this, especially after feeling so underwhelmed by the demo.

I read your review a few days ago but forgot to post.  Great read and further cements me not getting the title, although with Pcars still having problems I'm in a bit of circuit racing limbo on the console.  I've only just got my gaming TV after waiting 7 months to the day, and now nothing to fully satisfy my racing.

I haven't actually tried Forza6 apart from the demo (and I know you should always make up your own mind) but I'm wondering how the OZFM crowd has taken to it.  I hear they've at least got tyre wear and fuel usage working.  I don't doubt it looks and sounds incredible, but is everyone feeling it's just PGR on steroids?

Haven't played it yet but I've only heard good feedback about it, the only bad things are user related problems

Been playing for a few days now. To me it basically feels like a more refined version of forza 5. The V8s are all a blast to drive and feel more like race cars and less like potatoes. I haven't run int any major problems or glitches yet only problems I have is playing in public lobbies with all the spoons. Driving in the rain is a challenge and in a way it works better than pcars. You can still drive & be fast, and it's not insanely difficult. Night racing is good, looks better than pCars too. Maybe because they could focus more on it running smoothly as its not constantly changing ? The car list is impressive too. Just don't expect it to be more than a forza a game and you won't be disappointed.
