Hehehe!!

On the wheel, I thought it had great turn in, low-speed grip was good but I was getting some mid-corner push - I suspect it was from some rear body roll but I think it would be down to the device used and the driving style - controllers are perhaps more of a "point and shoot" and need more rear squat than someone on the wheel...?? But it certainly works and I will certainly look at it to see where I can improve my low-speed grip.

If anyone had the chance in doing so, I might join the cause and post up for sharing and feedback. Been working on it today where I've cracked the 1:50s (okay, juust - 1:50.999 - LB time). Still getting my head around the tuning on FM5 as Ive only been back on the game and wheel for a month or so.

Not taking anything away from Sly's tune and instigating the topic - great stuff dude. My contribution for those interested, and welcome the feedback.

I'm still having issues find the right brake settings.
45% seems to stop my ABS-less noobness locking it up but I feel im braking much earlier then other racers and sometimes still come in too hot from the straight.

Should I adjust it higher and learn some tough lessons about being gentler on brakes?
Any tips , I'm not used to non-ABS

Yeah force is usually a feel thing for most people I would raise it up and try get a feel for it I have mine anywhere from 85-120 depending on the car

Yeah it will take a while to get used to - for me i found there were a combination of factors, including force, deadzones and setup. 45% Brake Force seems to be too low IMO.

On FM1 back on the original Xbox, when I first learnt not to use ABS (on the controller) I just done some straight line accelerating and heavy braking until i got used to the where the threshold was in the triggers. My driving style kinda grew from there. When I started to use the wheel on FM2, I just done the same thing!

If you constantly find yourself underbraking, your pressures are probably set too low. Just remember too that you cant carry the same braking pressures into a corner like you can in a straight line.

So many tips to give!

No you can't carry the same brake pressure into a corner as a straight. If you are you are underbraking on the straight.  You're fronts will lock if at critical point and the wheel is turned

forza 5 is big on not braking and turning. try braking in a straight line, letting off then turning in. braking and turning=lockups & sand traps

I generally run about 120-130% brake pressure, but thats personal preference. when I first started not using ABS i used about 90% pressure and just practiced until I was confident. Once you're feeling confident by yourself definitely try doing some single player or multiplayer races to get used to doing in a racing environment.

I learned to race without ABS for this series - my first time even trying it. I watched some videos on youtube, and those guys had pretty high brake pressures (sometimes greater than 150%!).

I'm no expert, but two things helped me;
1: I watched the braking red bar in the lower right of the screen. Full brakes should be a lockup. After a few goes, you should learn how much to press the trigger before a lock up happens.
2: I did this in a private game, with a lot of practice on the main straight. Its kinda hard to watch the red bar as you're barreling into a corner! After a while, you get a feel for it. You'll still have the occasional panic moment with too much brake and a lock up.

As others have said, braking and turning is much harder (you need a lot less brake). Also, the trigger thresholds (on advice from somewhere else, I set mine to 0/100 for off and full).

Let me know if this doesnt make sense.

And if people know more, please correct me!

hey dazz try dropping the spring rates by about 40 kg front and rear i didn't change too much. just softened it up trying to get more front at nurburg. TBH i really havent touched it since tuesday but if it soaks up the kerbs it will be fine for silverstone. Make sur e your ride ight is h igh enough to avoid bottoming out.
