Qualifying Format [19/8/14]:

8:30pm: Lobby Opens
9:00pm: V8 Series 10 - Q1 (20 minutes)
9:30pm: Ruf Cup Events
10:30pm: V8 Series 10 - Q2 (20 minutes)


Race Format [26/8/14]:

08:30pm: Lobby Opens
09:00pm: V8 Series 10 - R1 (21 Laps, +1 Formation, Results of Qualifying, Safety Car Round)
10:00pm: V8 Series 10 - R2 (21 Laps, +1 Formation, Reverse Results R1, Safety Car Round)

Being a Long Format Round, each race will have safety cars enabled. However there are restrictions on safety car usage.

- A safety car will only be called if two or more cars have sustained damage as the result of an incident.
- When a safety car is called, the replays must be saved for review, penalties may be handed down from this review process for those involved.
- Safety cars will not be available in the final 25% of a race (e.g. in a 32 lap race safety cars will not be available from lap 24 onward)

- Penalties may also be handed down for those who exhibit unsportsmanlike behaviour. This includes, but is not limited to, excessive contact, verbal abuse, written abuse, excessive blocking, brake checking etc.
- If you feel that there may have been an incident that warrants review, please contact a series organiser, admin, moderator or race director with your concerns. Evidence of misconduct is required. 

Each race will feature one mandatory pit stop. This may be taken under safety car conditions, and maust be taken in the middle 50% of the race ().

The Cars

The OZFM V8's will feature the stock V8 Supercars plus added Race Brakes and Race driveline. Drivers can tune their cars as much or as little as they wish.

I cant make quali on Tuesday, can I qual early?

Just my 2 cents but isn't it a strange running the Ruffle Cup right in between qualifying sessions?

Please hear me out...

Its great if you only want to race Ruffles you just rock up at 9:30pm and race, but people that only want to run the v8's have to wait around until 10:30pm just to do their 2nd qualifying session. And what of those that want to run both? I thought the support events were not going to impact on the running of the main event, yet this does, it is right in the middle of it.

Sorry to be a pain but it needs to be said. What's wrong with quali sessions with a break, then the support series?

The reason for not running the two Qualifying sessions back to back with the rufs in between is the some people, a minority yes. Don't like the v8's and only sign up for the rufs. By running the two Qs then the rufs they would not start until 10pm Melbourne time (midnight in NZ).
It's just trying to hit a reasonable medium

Yep and any NZ members whom want to race the v8's (the main event) regardless of whether or not they want to race the Ruffles now have to wait until 12:30am NZ time EVERY fortnight to run their allocated 2 qualifying sessions.

They only need to run 1 lap minimum. The second Qualifying session is up to them. It's not ideal, we know that but it's the best option we had if we were going to run a support series at all

That's my point, so main series runners will be disadvantaged because of the support series. I think it would be fairer and better to run the v8 sessions first, then the SUPPORT series after the MAIN event has been completed.

Has the Ruffle race setup etc even been announced?

I understand what you're saying and i don't completely disagree with you, however how many people would turn up to an event that started at 10pm?
Very few is my bet.

I don't think too much has been developed for the Ruf's. But i'm not involved with running that one so I'm not sure what is in development

Thanks for explaining it through, I've raised all my issues so I promise I won't harp on about it anymore.

I'm sorry for going on with it after you guys are finished but i think that reapr has the right idea. After all the only reason for the RUF Cup is just a little entertainment so we aren't rocking up to an event that last 30 minutes, it's nothing serious. If it was meant to be a proper event i feel like it should be on at a different night so we can focus on that specific event and not the V8 Supercars.

Can we see how this week/round goes, if its an issue then move to a Back to Back shoot out for qualifying?
So, 2 x 15min sessions would be more plenty of time to get a good lap in - if not revert it to laps, depending on track of course 2min lap time = 7 laps per session.

This would mean the Ruffs can kick off at aprox 945pm

On the flip side, with the way it is now, anyone who cant make the first v8 quali session has a chance to make the later session. Thats especially handy now since there wont be any chance to qualify between the official quali session and race night.

Lobbies will open at 8:30pm AEST, with the first Qualifying session starting at 9pm - Dont be late because we will start without you if no prior waring is given.

Based on my knowledge in no particular order.

I tried to put people in with people i thought they would end up racing against, for the unknows i haven't race with on F5 they where just put in a room

Lobbie hosts, pleas make sure you "xbox record that" and get photos up on here after tonights qualifying. The sooner the better as it will give us more time to get the rooms up for next weeks race round.
