So for the "at work and no time to fully read"
is this a PC game that requires an Uber computer to use and is it free?

Yes, free.
Yes, PC.
Uber? Dunno till I try (using a pretty average pc)
Recommended setup:
Processor:Quad-core AMD or Intel @ 2.4 GHz
Graphics:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1.5 GB Video Card or AMD equivalent

Anyone know what's the difference between the beta version mentioned earlier, and the steam game here:

I think it's only available through steam now, there was a closed beta where you could get all the cars and tracks for free on top of the standard stuff but not sure if that's changed and you actually need to pay for it with real $$$ now.

Even if you have to fork out a few bucks for Bathurst it's worth it, you definitely don't need a flash pc to run the game either. Forza is getting quite a lot easier after playing this to lol

Thinking i might just grab a G27 for this, burned out on Forza and i'm spending less time on the xbox itself and switching into PC for pretty much everything now.

That and its cheaper than buying a Fanatec.

G27 is pretty sweet envy, not sure how it compares to the Fanatec but i haven't found any drawbacks yet. There's some deals to be had if you can find a slighlty used one as well.

I've got a Logitech Momo Racing FFB wheel for PC if thats of interest to anyone.
Very little use and in as new condition, still in the original box.
Not sure what it'd be worth now...

I've used one, just not the pedals. Its logitech, so its definitely going to be reliable and the Fanatec gear is better in terms of luxury, but for the price? Its a steal.

edit: Stolen.

While your at getting a G27, grab the the GTEYE brake pedal spring of ebay for $30 delivered, a major improvement over the standard G27 brake pedal pressure imo, and is a 10 minute job to install, easy as.

GT5 is suddenly a completely different game with the wheel. Outstanding.

edit: GT5 is actually rather brilliant....provided you use a wheel.
