Formula 1 2011

who will be getting it and what does everyone think it will be like? i know the have already confirmed the safety car and split screen

I saw some still shots earlier. Looks REALLY nice. But... early days yet.

Yep i will be although I really hope they fix the wooden brake pedal (no feel then it locks up) & the car still spinning crazily with TCS on randomly. Those were my 2 biggest gripes with the 1st one, which was really enjoyable otherwise.

yeh noone seemed to like 2010 but i loved it although there was a fair few things they need to fix

yea Ill be trading in the old 1 for this when it is released....
Should be intresting with the KERS and DRS systems in place.....hopefully theres been abit of thought put into this 1 this time around.

So I was fairly impressed with Codies first F1 attempt, F1 2010. I know the hard core sim fans probably weren't, but as a starting point, the game was fun and the AI challenging. According to the various previews around, Codies have made improvements for F1 2011, especially with regards to multiplayer (16 player + 8 AI cars online sounds awesome). So who's getting it? Hopefully with enough interest, we can organise some racing!

I loved F1 2010. Sure, it wasn't the 'sim' the hard core racers were hoping for, but it was fun and challenging. Apparently Codies have ramped up the multiplayer this year, and you can race 24 online (16 players + 8 AI) ! I know F1 2010 was a bit buggy on release and turned a lot of peeps off. A patch released later sort of fixed most things.

F1 2010 was impressive. I enjoyed the single player stuff - having career difficult set to damn hard and starting with a bucket of F1-backmarking-puss and struggling to get into the top 20 in the first years then working my way though the years was thoroughly enjoying. I never spent much time on XBL multiplayer thou - I was turned off by the fact to keep up with everyone you had to be in a redbull ect....bugger that. Its a simulation of a current generation of F1, and to enjoy that you had to play single player.

Will I get F1 2011? Hmm if it was small enough to be a DLC package then yes. But im not convinced that F1 2011 needs to be an all new game to improve over 2010. Therefore if I desire to play it (which i dont atm due to a lack of wheel, and it sucks on controller) Ill wait until i find a pre-owned going cheap 6-or-so months down the track.

F1 has always been my passion, so I bought F1 2010.
Thing is even though I enjoyed the game I hardly played it, because I enjoy Forza and racing with the OZFM community and that takes up 95% of my gaming time.

I'll keep an eye on F1 2011, but I can't guarantee I'll buy it.

Good to see you back, good to see your looking at taking the garage at a sensible pace. With your ideas for your track maps, garage etc, just don't go over committing yourself and burning out again.
We'd all much prefer to see you burning out on the track, laying down some digital rubber.

for me F1 2010 was almost flawed brilliance, but the AI cars physics were far too rubbish (putting it lightly, they were actually non-existent). it they fix that then i'll be super keen...

Bored last night, so I put this back into the xbox for a bit of a go on career mode (hahaha I'd never tried that on this game before, only raced Multi Player) & I have to say I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would!

If anyone is keen for a few more thrashes of this game before F1 2012 comes out in a couple of months, i'll be there. I miss our races in the "off week" that we used to do, anyone keen to get that going again (or at least have a few MP races) until the new game comes out?

I'll be keen to jump in for a few races.

Cool, I reckon we should get the off week races going again, just as a casual thing. Looks like we missed this week but we have the F1 mid season break coming up after next week's round in Germany, so plenty of time to run at least a couple or more full races then
